Take part in the Great Egg Race Challenge at M&E Week
Manufacturing & Engineering Week is a new event on the 2022 show calendar featuring a blend of digital programme and live co-located exhibitions demonstrating the latest solutions to help tackle the key issues facing today’s industrial businesses.
Taking place between 6th and 10th June 2022, Manufacturing & Engineering Week will be a five-day festival of British manufacturing and engineering innovation bringing together the very best of UK engineering talent.
A key feature of the show will be a revival of the Great Egg Race Challenge from the classic TV series of the same name, where contestants will be faced with the task of propelling an uncooked egg over a wall into a tractor trailer, with the winning team being declared the champion. The challenge will take place on both days of the live events on 8th and 9th June.
The challenge :
To propel an uncooked egg using the equipment provided over a wall into the trailer of a ride on tractor. The egg must land in the tractor trailer, without breaking.
On the first day, teams will be provided with a kit that will allow them to build a motorised solution. On the second day, the kit provided will include items that will allow them to shoot / propel the egg.
Equipment will include string, elastic bands, cotton reels, Gaffer tape, Paper card, Pens, electric motor, clothes peg.
