ASG Arrowsmith soar to new heights
Established more than 55 years ago, ASG Arrowsmith continues to be a leading name in the aerospace supply chain through its continued success in receiving major aerospace accreditations including AS9100, NADCAP, ISO 14001, and Queens Award for International Trade. The company is now also a current SC21 OE Silver award holder.
Since signing up to SC21 in 2008, ASG Arrowsmith has gained a Bronze award in 2013, and then progressed to Silver in 2016. The company has consistently held awards since 2013. In 2017, they conducted a successful pilot study, final assessment for SC21 C&G, and a SC21 project in 2021.
Managing Director, Jason Aldridge explains; “ASG Arrowsmith has set objectives to focus on controlling key measures, making ongoing improvements throughout the business, maintaining KPIs while increasing turnover, and expanding its customer portfolio. To achieve this, we plan to maintain our award status and live CSIP, push for SC21 Gold, generally support the SC21 community, and continue to grow.
ASG Arrowsmith is a nominated key supplier to a Blue Chip clientele, and it has the ability to consistently manufacture and supply quality machined parts fully certified, on time, and right first time. In 2018, the company scored 93% in the Rolls-Royce Supplier Planning assessment, and its turnover grew from £6.6m in 2018 to £7.8m in 2020. With support of the wider ASG Group, the firm targets growth to top £8m turnover during 2023/24
With the help of the ASG Group, ASG Arrowsmith has invested considerably in the adoption of the SC21 programme to increase capability, capacity, and quality of service. This has resulted in various benefits, including leaner production, leaner processes, reduced set-up time, waste reduction, workforce involvement/motivation, improved workforce skills, improved use of internal business information, improved customer/supplier relationships, improved quality performance over the past 12 months, and improved delivery performance over the past 12 months.
Managing Director, Jason Aldridge, continues, “We are very proud of this achievement as achieving and maintaining the SC21 Silver award level is not an easy task, but the whole company has displayed the necessary commitment and attitude to support SC21 every step of the way. We are striving for SC21 Gold, but it is very difficult with material and process house supply being affected.”
ASG Group Managing Director Simon Weston summarises; “Its evident since ASG Arrowsmith began its SC21 journey as one of the first suppliers to do so in 2008 that the firm is at the cutting edge of thinking, technology and quality in the aerospace supply chain. This is crucial to our ongoing group growth that the firm is positioned as synonymous with quality, delivery and value to our world class OEM and Prime customers in the global aerospace market, so we’re really proud of the achievement at ASG Arrowsmith and we remain committed to the 21st Century supply chain ideals set about in SC21.”
