Technology days showcase cutting-edge machining innovations

Industry leaders, engineers and machining experts gathered at Grob Machine Tools in March for a two-day collaborative workshop with Iscar UK, exploring the latest advancements in high-performance CNC machining.

The event provided live demonstrations and technical insights into machining prismatic components, with a strong focus on aerospace aluminium and titanium. Attendees witnessed the power of modern programming strategies, bespoke tooling geometries and high-speed engraving using coolant-driven tools.

Highlights of the event included a deep hole drilling demonstration using TriDeep, Iscar’s indexable gun-drilling solution, and MultiMaster NeoBarrell for five-axis roughing and finishing applications.

Other demonstrations showcased Iscar UK’s latest tooling solutions designed to optimise roughing and finishing, including Mill4Feed high-feed milling with Iscar UK’s latest grades and solid-carbide end mills. Tool geometries here are dedicated to achieving higher productivity, energy efficiency and extended tool life when machining titanium.

As manufacturing moves toward complete machining solutions, the event reinforced the importance of integrating versatile multi-functional tools, stronger self-clamping designs and optimised cutting strategies. The collaboration between Grob and Iscar UK continues to set benchmarks in precision engineering and high-volume metal removal. Grob’s machine tools and Iscar UK’s cutting solutions highlighted real-world applications that drive efficiency across industry.
