ROMI ready to make its UK mark at MACH

There’s a certain confidence about ROMI Machines UK heading into MACH 2026 (NEC Birmingham, 20-24 April), and it’s easy to see why. “Although we’re still working to move among the UK’s major machine tool brands, word is spreading fast,” asserts General Manager Eduardo Paiva. After a strong showing at MACH last time out, ROMI is back with a bigger team, more reference installations and a bold call for action: “Come and see what we’re really about”.

ROMI may still be gaining traction in the UK, but it’s a major player on the world stage. In fact, the company is Brazil’s largest machine tool manufacturer with over 50% market share in its home country, almost 100 years of history and a global installation count in the hundreds of thousands.

ROMI will be running live demonstrations on four machines at MACH (stand 6-110). Featuring either Siemens or FANUC controls, the machines comprise: a ROMI DCM 620-5F five-axis VMC; a ROMI D-1000 three-axis VMC; a ROMI GL 300S turning centre with sub-spindle and Y axis; and a ROMI C 470 manual/CNC combination lathe. Any engineer who likes to see chips flying before making a judgement, will feel right at home on ROMI’s stand.

“We absolutely invite visitors to bring drawings or parts for our technical team to assess,” encourages Eduardo.

ROMI machines, including their heavy, rigid cast bases, are manufactured in-house in Brazil, where the company focuses heavily on engineering quality. Major build components, such as motors and drives, are supplied by global leading brands.

Tooling for the MACH demos will be provided by partners Kennametal and MA Ford, while ROMI will also be sharing its stand with Germany-based sister company Burkhardt+Weber (part of ROMI since 2012) for those interested in larger, high-end horizontal machining centres.

But beyond the machines, there’s a broader shift happening. With 30 stock machines landing in the UK this summer, delivery times are now very short, while ROMI’s commercial offer is becoming more flexible and attractive. Think rental and rent-to-buy options, and a 36-month warranty as standard.

Eduardo tells us: “If engineers are seeking a robust, high-quality machine on a par with tier-one brands, that’s ROMI. However, we combine that offer with highly competitive pricing and one-to-one customer relationships, which are not always available from the so-called major brands. Come and find out for yourself at MACH.”
