Record MACH orders for Sodick

Exhibiting at every MACH since 1992, the exhibition pedigree and presence of Sodick Europe, along with sole UK distributor Sodi-Tech EDM, is difficult to match. In these 34 years of exhibiting, the 2026 edition exceeded all previous events and proved to be the most successful ever for Sodi-Tech with double-digit sales. One leading aerospace and power generation manufacturer placed a £1m+ order at the show.

With six machines providing live demonstrations of technology spanning wire EDM, die-sink EDM and high-end machining innovations, the aesthetically illuminating stand immediately lit up the imagination of engineers visiting Hall 20.

Sodick Sales Manager Richard Bailey said: “As a world-leading EDM brand renowned for delivering ground-breaking innovations, MACH visitors were astounded by the technology enhancements presented in our live demonstrations. It was next generation technology like the ‘i Groove’ wire rotation technology, TH COM thermal displacement correction function and the 2D pitch compensation software that guarantees pitch accuracy to +/-1 micron that caught the attention of stand visitors. As soon as our team had an opportunity to demonstrate the productivity, precision and the energy and cost saving potential of our portfolio, stand visitors soon started placing orders.”

He continued: “The quantity and quality of attendees were evident by both the orders and enquiries taken. Stand visitors and orders placed by key sectors such as aerospace, defence and medical all increased sharply. This highlights the critical importance that manufacturers need to embrace our innovation, as it will transform their manufacturing processes and subsequently impact output and cost competitiveness.”

With six machines on the stand, visitors were drawn to the Sodick ALC600P ‘i Groove + Edition’, which Sodick says marks a real leap in wire EDM technology. This award-winning machine offers patented wire rotation technology that reduces wire consumption by up to 30%.

Another stand-out performer was the VN600Q precision wire-cut EDM machine, where an automatic wire threading supports uninterrupted machining.

In the aftermath of MACH, these machines, along with the linear motor AD55L, the premium AL60G die-sink EDM and the UX450L high-end machining centre, have been shipped to the technical centre. Exhibition visitors are now busy filling the diaries of Sodick engineers with requests for follow-up presentations and application-specific demonstrations.
