Prismatic machining of extra-large components

DMG Mori has launched the DMF 600|11, an XXL travelling-column machining centre for components up to 7,200 mm in length and 12 tonnes in weight.

The modular machine offers four, five or six-axis machining, optional rotary or torque tables, and pendulum machining via twin-table configuration. Integrated milling, turning, grinding, drilling and gear cutting enable one-hit machining, reducing throughput times and improving quality.

A cast-bed design, extensive cooling and multiple spindle options ensure precision and thermal stability. Rapid traverse speeds reach 42 m/min standard or 80 m/min with the ‘Dynamic Package’. Automation options, including MATRIS robotics and AMR transport systems, support autonomous 24/7 production.
