The popular MC6100 range of inserts from Mitsubishi Materials has been expanded to include MC6135, a tough grade for applications ranging form continuous turning through to rough and interrupted cutting.

This new grade will complement the existing range and provide end users a choice to machine a vast array of steels and of different applications. MC6135 utilises Industry-leading crystal orientation control technology that enables thinner but still impact-resistant coatings that provide improved chipping and wear resistance. Such features are optimal for use on the tough MC6135 grade. Additionally the coating it is 50 % thinner compared to previous types.

In cutting trials of interrupted cutting on DIN 41CrMo4 material, the tool life of MC6135 was found to be extended by 20% compared to conventional grades.

Super Nano Texture Technology

The outstanding crystal orientation of the Al2O3 coating has been developed by improving the conventional Nano Texture Technology. These technological improvements increase both wear resistance and tool life.

The inserts are finished in a gold colour for easy identification of used edges and are available in a vast range of both negative and positive geometries. A wide choice of chipbreakers to enable efficient use of all the MC series are also available from stock.
