Measurement Solutions Ltd heads to MACH with industry-focused innovations

At MACH 2026 (NEC Birmingham, 20-24 April), Measurement Solutions Ltd (MSL) will present from an industry-focused booth designed to reflect the real-world challenges faced across manufacturing today. Located on Stand 19-640, MSL is set to highlight four dedicated application zones: industrial metrology and automation, defence & MRO, aerospace, and automotive.

Each area will demonstrate how advanced 3D measurement and digital assembly technologies are being deployed to improve accuracy, efficiency, traceability and production throughput across critical sectors.

Industrial metrology and automation: New shop-floor CMM, CT scanning and robot integration

At the heart of the stand will be a new shop-floor CMM, alongside a CT scanning solution, demonstrating MSL’s commitment to bringing high-end inspection capability directly into production environments.

The new Ready CMM shop-floor solution will be paired with a machine-tending robot system, enabling automated inspection directly in the factory environment. Designed specifically for use in manufacturing areas, this configuration reduces manual intervention while increasing repeatability and cycle efficiency.

Importantly, the system does not require an air supply, allowing for simple set-up and rapid implementation within existing production cells. The integration of robotic tending enables components to be loaded, measured and processed with minimal operator input, supporting lights-out manufacturing strategies and delivering:

  • Reduced inspection bottlenecks
  • Improved consistency
  • Increased machine utilisation
  • Greater production throughput

Together with CT capability for internal inspection and defect analysis, this area of the stand demonstrates how metrology is increasingly embedded within automated production systems rather than positioned downstream as a standalone quality function.

Measurement and NDT: Introducing the new Creaform HandySCAN EVO Elite

MSL will also showcase the latest Creaform EVO platform for high-performance measurement and non-destructive testing (NDT) applications. Designed for portability and shop-floor robustness, the EVO system features an on-board screen and a utility pack enabling wireless capability, providing greater flexibility for operators working in dynamic manufacturing environments.

The platform delivers fast, high-resolution data acquisition across a wide range of inspection and reverse engineering tasks, and is well-suited to industries where speed, flexibility and reliability are critical. Visitors will see how the system supports:

  • Surface inspection
  • Dimensional validation
  • NDT workflows
  • Reverse engineering projects

Aerospace: High-accuracy measurement and laser-guided assembly

The aerospace zone will demonstrate how MSL supports precision-driven industries using advanced portable metrology solutions and laser-guided assembly technology. Technologies on display will include:

  • Creaform MetraSCAN
  • Creaform HandyProbe
  • Creaform HandySCAN MAX
  • Virtek Iris 3D

The inclusion of Virtek laser projection technology highlights MSL’s capability not only in measurement, but also in digital assembly and alignment. Laser-guided projection systems enable accurate placement of components, composite lay-ups, and tooling features directly on to work surfaces, reducing reliance on physical templates and improving assembly accuracy.

Together, these systems enable rapid and accurate inspection of large and complex aerospace components, including structural assemblies, tooling and composite parts. The flexibility of portable optical metrology allows inspection directly on the production floor or within MRO environments, reducing downtime and improving responsiveness.

Automotive: Measurement, jig and fixture validation

In the automotive zone, MSL will demonstrate how 3D scanning and probing technologies accelerate jig and fixture validation, first article inspection, and production quality control, using portable metrology systems such as:

  • Creaform MetraSCAN
  • Creaform HandyProbe
  • Creaform HandySCAN MAX

Manufacturers can quickly digitise complex geometries and compare them against CAD data to:

  • Shorten development cycles
  • Improve fit and alignment
  • Reduce costly rework
  • Validate tooling and fixtures efficiently

This capability is particularly valuable in high-performance and specialist automotive sectors where speed, precision and traceability are paramount.

Supporting defence & MRO

MSL’s technologies are widely deployed across defence and MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) applications. The stand will highlight how portable 3D metrology and laser-guided assembly support asset inspection, reverse engineering of legacy components, and rapid validation in field or workshop environments.

The combination of speed, portability, automation integration and high accuracy makes these systems ideally suited to mission-critical applications where reliability cannot be compromised.
