MACH 2026: Sodick to demonstrate complete solutions

Returning to MACH, Sodick Europe, in partnership with sole UK distributor Sodi-Tech EDM, will be located at Stand 350 in Hall 20. This EDM specialist will showcase some of its latest die-sink EDM, wire EDM and advanced machining centre technology at the industry’s flagship event at the Birmingham NEC on 20-24 April.
With a total of six machines at MACH that will provide live demonstrations for show visitors, the event will be a perfect opportunity for UK manufacturers to witness the latest innovations in action. From the die-sink EDM portfolio, Sodick will introduce the AD55L, a linear motor machine that the company says delivers premium technology in an entry-level platform. The machine combines dynamic linear motor performance with comprehensive features to establish new benchmarks in precision erosion.
At the core of the AD55L is Sodick’s proven linear motor technology across all three axes that offer travel of 600 by 400 by 400 mm (XYZ) with a 0.0001 mm step resolution. This advanced drive system, combined with linear scales and the Sodick Motion controller, ensures precise positioning, supported by Sodick’s 10-year warranty on positional accuracy.
The machine’s ceramic work zone maintains thermal stability for consistent accuracy, while the specifications include a 750 by 550 mm ceramic table capable of supporting workpieces up to 1,000 kg. The work tank features inner dimensions of 1200 by 800 by 500 mm, with an 800-litre capacity filtered through two replaceable paper elements.
Operational efficiency is improved by the shuttle ATC system featuring six stations for automated electrode changing, a C axis (SEC10) for rotary positioning, and the SGF Plus Circuit for discharge control. The LN Professional control system operates via an intuitive 15-inch TFT touchscreen, while integrated dielectric cooling and automatic voltage regulation maintain consistent processing conditions.
Representing the premium line of die-sink technology at MACH will be the Sodick AL60G. This linear motor machine incorporates the SP controller with Smart Pulse generator, Sodick’s linear motor technology in the X, Y and Z axes, absolute linear scales for positioning accuracy and Sodick’s 10-year warranty. Thermal stability is assured, reports the company, while the Sodick Motion Controller with integrated linear motor cooling unit maintains consistent performance throughout extended production cycles.
The machine’s specification includes a 750 by 550 mm ceramic table capable of handling workpieces up to 1,500 kg, with a three-sided rise and fall work tank providing flexible access for component loading and compatibility with automation. Machining performance is optimised through the SGF4 Nano-Wear Discharge Unit, complemented by TMM4 and BSN4 finishing circuits for smooth surface quality. The intelligent Q³vic EDM system with LN Professional AI software automatically determines optimum machining conditions, whilst the SP controller operates via an intuitive 19-inch TFT colour screen. Optional equipment includes ATC units with up to 32 stations, a C axis (SEC10) for rotary applications, and the SCF72P high-precision rotary head offering 2,000 rpm capability for complex geometries.
Certain to stop MACH visitors in the aisles will be the UX450L high-end machining centre. This ultra-rigid gantry structure machine utilises Sodick’s linear drive technology and proprietary cooling system that minimises thermal displacement and guarantees precision and stability. Powered by the LNX4 CNC system – displayed on an intuitive 19-inch touch panel – ease of operation is further enhanced by the SEPTune processing support system. SEPTune adopts a graphical design platform to optimise programming and machine operation, whilst enabling users to make fine adjustments to machining parameters.
