Lockheed Martin launches UK Skunk Works® initiative

Lockheed Martin has launched a new UK-based ‘Technology Roadmaps’ initiative through its advanced development division, Skunk Works®, aimed at accelerating next-generation defence capabilities across Britain.

Announced alongside the company’s new Tier 1 partnership with the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) in Coventry, the programme will focus on artificial intelligence, autonomy, cyber technologies, advanced materials and space manufacturing.

The initiative seeks to strengthen collaboration with UK SMEs, government agencies, academia and industry partners, while supporting sovereign defence innovation. Lockheed Martin says the programme will help reduce production costs, improve supply-chain resilience and speed the delivery of advanced technologies to frontline defence operations across allied nations.
