The Inspekto S70 autonomous machine vision system now features an AI-based software tool – Auto Markup – that helps improve defect inspection capabilities. Leveraging the new AI technology, the system can detect even previously unencountered defects. By learning from examples of ‘good’ parts, the Inspekto S70 is able to identify anomalies and alert users to potential issues. The Inspekto S70 is available in the UK from Optimax.
Inspekto’s S70 machine vision system simplifies the set up and execution of visual inspections for parts and assemblies, even those with complex geometries. The system can manage quality control tasks across a range of materials and applications. Its adaptability extends to integration with robotic arms and collaborative robots (cobots), enabling work alongside human operators or independent operation within a fully automated cell. The unit is deployable either in-line within a production process or as a component of a fully automated inspection cell.
The latest version 5.2.0 introduces the AI-driven Auto Markup tool, which streamlines the process of defining inspection areas. Through automatic part identification and a user-friendly interface, the Auto Markup tool allows users to designate the part outline and specific regions of interest for inspection.
Most notable among the benefits of this upgrade is better defect inspection. Inspekto has focused on maintaining an extremely low rate of false alarms, while simultaneously enhancing the system’s sensitivity when classifying samples as ‘OK’ or ‘not OK’. This concept ensures accurate and reliable inspection results. Furthermore, the new ‘import profile markup’ function offers a significant time-saving advantage. Users can now leverage existing profiles as a starting point, modifying them to create new profiles with similar characteristics. This capability eliminates the need to start from scratch each time, reducing set-up time and effort.
