Hurco’s focus at this year’s EMO on stand D68 in hall 12 will be on automation and simplification of programming processes. The company will demonstrate how freeform surfaces are easy to program at the machine using the Hurco control system. Tried-and-tested parts handling systems will also be exhibited.Sebastian Herr, Applications Technology Manager at Hurco explained, “Contract manufacturing is all about completing orders quickly and reliably. We help our customers successfully meet these demands by providing machines and software that can deliver the best results.”Automation with ProCobotsHurco will present a ProFeeder, a parts handling solution that is part of the company’s own ProCobots range, which are simple plug-and-play solutions that are easy to program and use. The ProFeeder will be shown working with the TM8Mi lathe, but can be used with different Hurco machines based on operational needs. ProFeeder is easy to integrate into processes, as it is set up via the user-friendly WinMax control software and the Automation Job Manager solution developed specifically for ProCobots.Mr Herr added, “The flexible performance of our control system will be plain to see. With the automation solution, parts are loaded reliably, without the need for any specialist programming knowledge.“With the two control system screens, the operator works in a familiar environment as the interfaces are unchanged.“There are lots of images, not much text – along with all the other features of the WinMax control system.“The conversational programming system is also fast and includes every step that needs to be initiated in automated parts handling.”Solid Model Import for programming freeform surfaces on the shop floorThe second major topic on the company’s stand at EMO will be further simplification of programming at the machine. Mr Herr said, “We want to help our customers run an efficient operation, shorten turnaround times and maximise resource availability. That is why our control system is constantly learning.”New this year is the Surfacing option. Hurco’s Solid Model Import software makes it possible to import 3D models formatted as STEP files directly into the control. Surfacing expands the import capability for solid models to include the surface data set. The new functionality enables programming of even complex freeform surfaces on the shop floor. Prior to this development, it was necessary to use a CAM workstation to generate freeform surfaces.Hurco Europe’s Demo Deals Day in High WycombeFor anyone not planning to travel to EMO, an alternative show will be held on 28th September 2023 at Hurco Europe, 12 Merlin Centre, Lancaster Road, Cressex Business Park, High Wycombe, HP12 3TB.The one-day event is called Demo Deals Day. Thirteen ex-demo machines will be on show and available for purchase, plus there will be some used machines that are currently being cleaned and refurbished. A free Hurco golf umbrella awaits anyone who requests a new machine or Solid Model Import demo on the day.
