ETG Locked-In To Benefits of Cyber Security
With cyber-attacks proving a credible and ever-increasing threat to industry, the Engineering Technology Group (ETG) has now become Cyber Essentials certified. The UK government-backed scheme supports businesses in their plight to guard critical assets and data against the most common cyber threats.
By undertaking this programme, Wellesbourne-based ETG is demonstrating its commitment to the cyber security of its staff and business assets and the security of its customers and suppliers. The journey to Cyber Essentials certification has required significant investment from ETG with additional Firmware and Hardware installed to protect the company’s assets. This level of investment reassures ETG customers that it is continually working to secure their IT infrastructure against cyber-attacks whilst providing a clear picture of the organisation’s cyber security level.
Commenting upon ETG becoming Cyber Essentials certified, ETG’s Operations Manager, Mr Garry Cooke says: “ETG always prioritises its stakeholders and this Cyber Essentials certificate demonstrates that we have protected our business to the most stringent levels. Our enhanced security now includes 2-factor authentication on all assets for employees and clients to ensure we are protected against breaches.”
“We have a lot of blue-chip customers, and data protection is increasingly a key criterion to winning contracts and working with some of the world’s leading brands – especially in critical industries like aerospace, nuclear and defence. In fact, some Government contracts demand Cyber Essentials certification as a pre-requisite to doing business. This accreditation provides peace of mind for our customers that their documents and data are safe from security breaches,” concludes Garry.
