EMO 2025: Super-high-accuracy Roeders machining centres on show

German machining centre manufacturer Roeders GmbH, whose products are sold into the UK and Irish markets exclusively by Hurco Europe, will be presenting three new RPT-series models at EMO 2025 (22-26 September, Hanover) on Stand C06 in Hall 12. They incorporate the latest NANOTOL and PRECITEMP developments, which not only allow extremely tight tolerances to be achieved, but also very high surface quality.
NANOTOL is integrated into the linear guideways to improve the running behaviour, while PRECITEMP technology manages temperature fluctuations to maintain geometric stability within ±1 micron, even with a 3 deg C temperature variation in the workshop. In consequence, RPT machines achieve machined tolerances twice as tight as the already very accurate RXP series from Roeders.

What a machine is really capable of only becomes apparent when milling complex geometries. Due to high tool path accuracy, it is possible to produce optical quality surfaces quickly. For example, a 20 mm diameter convex surface with an Ra less than 10 nm was produced in just two hours.
In terms of geometric accuracy, a 150 mm square aluminium block was machined on five sides to less than 1 micron flatness and straightness. Holes machined into hardened steel have a pitch tolerance of less than one micron and cylindricity of under half a micron. Target industries for these 3-axis and 5-axis machines include mould and die making, aerospace, and medical prosthetics manufacture.
