UK Circuits, a contract electronics manufacturer (CEM) that creates electronics for products destined for the UK and overseas, has become a member of Made In Britain. As a new member, UK Circuits will now be displaying the ‘Made In Britain’ icon, reinforcing its commitment to locally assembled PCBs and other electronics.

Made in Britain is a recognised and protected trademark – with internationally recognition – that is exclusively available to British manufacturers.

“As our name suggests, at UK Circuits we manufacture all our electronics here in the UK and believe this is something to celebrate,” says Marc Ellis, Managing Director of UK Circuits. “Manufacturing in Britain is synonymous with quality, reliability and innovation – and that’s exactly what we deliver. By joining the Made In Britain group, we aim to present those British qualities – not just to the local businesses we work with – but also to international companies seeking trusted UK manufacturing for their electronics”

Made In Britain is a non-profit organisation aimed at uniting, supporting and promoting manufacturers who produce products in the UK. Members of Made in Britain can use the official trademark to help UK and international consumers, buyers and specifiers identify UK-made products.

Due to issues with global manufacturing supply chains and rising international costs and uncertainty, there has been an increase in demand for domestic manufacturing, further making the ‘Made In Britain’ trademark important for buyers in the UK.

“With the electronics manufacturing market typically dominated by Asian suppliers, we’ve seen a recent return to British-made products to avoid supply chain instability,” explains Marc Ellis. “By sourcing electronics from a British manufacturer, customers can expect not only an exceptional standard of product quality, but also greater flexibility that avoids the delays associated with overseas shipping.”

Founded in 1997, UK Circuits produces both surface-mounted (on PCBs) and conventionally assembled (through-hole) electronics for over 100 clients. With a 20,000 square foot facility and a growing team of over 40 electronics specialists, UK Circuits has become a major British CEM supporting sectors that include sensors and monitoring, industrial, entertainment, lighting, audio, and more.

Concludes Marc Ellis: “By celebrating British manufacturers, we can all help invest in skilled craftsmanship and the future for the sector. We look forward to displaying our new ‘Made In Britain’ credentials with pride.”
