Accu reveals innovative new Pika screws

Accu, a UK precision engineering component distributor, has introduced Pika screws to its range, which are suitable for applications where aesthetics and a flush finish are essential. Pika screws are an innovative type of fastener designed with a unique spring-loaded concealed drive and three-lobed configuration, making them useful for applications where aesthetics and a flush finish are required. The screws are engineered to hide the drive recess, providing a sleek, decorative solution for high-end projects.
Pika screws deliver a clean, polished look, with the screw heads blending discreetly into the surface. They ensure that no screw marks or recesses detract from the overall project design.
Accu offers Pika screws in brass or 304 stainless steel. Brass Pika screws are for applications where a refined, vintage aesthetic is preferred, while the stainless steel variant offers a sleek, contemporary appearance with suitability for indoor or outdoor use.
Yasin Boulakhras, Accu’s Global Head of Product Strategy, says: “We introduced this range to meet customer demand from the furniture and architectural industries. The aesthetics of these screws are undeniable, as the screw drive remains hidden and flush with the surface, while a secure hold is guaranteed.”
To operate the concealed drive, a special Pika drive is required. Users insert the bit into the screw and apply pressure during installation. This activates the spring-loaded mechanism to reveal the drive. The three-lobed drive enhances grip during installation, allowing for precise torque control.
Accu’s range of Pika Screws come in a variety of sizes and types to suit individual applications, from thread sizes of 1/4-20 UNC to 5/16-18 UNC, and lengths of 3/4″ to 1 1/2″.
